I absolutely like this novel, Summer in Seoul is written by Ilana Tan. Seoul capital city is used as setting on the story. This novel tells us about love story between Sandy, a Indonesian Girl who studies and works part time as a Korean designer assistant and Jung Tae Woo, a popular Korean singer.

The story begins when Sandy meets Jung Tae Woo. They meet when their phones are exchanged. At that time, Jung Tae Woo is rumored to be gay wth his manager. So, they have a plan to make Sandy as Jung Tae Woo's secret love. Without doub, Sandy agreess this plan.

The days as fake couple it makes their relationship more close. On the other side, media always searches news about Sandy.

Finally, media knows that Sandy is Jung Tae Woos's fan's sister who died four years ago after Jung Tae Woo's car hit her. Having known that, Jung Tae Woo apologize to Sandy's family for the car incident which happened to Sandy's sister. It proves that Jung Tae Woo isn't bad person who has been thought by her family.

This novel doesn't make the readers feel bored because the love story is different fom the other Indonesian love story novels. The readers can understand the real meaning of true love.

On the other side, the South Korean life in this novel is less stressed. The author doesn't tell something about Jung Tae Woo's family, she only tells about Sandy's family. This novel also don't tell the readers about Sandy's or Jung Tae Woo's religion. So, this novel don't have religion value.

Every Korean singer has sasaeng fans or fanatic fans who are anarchist with their idol's girlfriend. But, the author doesn't tell about it in the story.

In my opinion, Jung Tae Woo's character in this novel is too common. Korean male singers are recognized with cool and perfect character. Jung Tae Woo is also cool and perfect man. He doesn't have anything different from other korean male singer's character.

Overall, this novel is very good. It has nice plot. Although it doesn't tell something like ; Jung Tae Woo's family, religion value, sasaeng fans and soon. If you are bored with the Indonesian love story novels, you should read this novel.
